Force Out to Foil Trial of War Criminals
Says Menon
Workers' Party of Bangladesh President Rashed
Khan Menon yesterday said an external force, coupled with the country's
anti-liberation forces, is engaged in hatching a conspiracy to foil the trial
of war criminals.
“The recent comment of Pakistani high
commissioner has proved that an external force along with the country's
anti-liberation forces is involved in a conspiracy to foil the trial of war criminals.”
Menon said this at a view exchange meeting of the
14-Party
Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan High Commissioner
Ashraf Qureshi after a courtesy call with Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said the
war crimes issue was resolved through an agreement signed in 1974.
Terming the comment an undue interference in the
county's internal matters, Menon urged the Pakistani government to seek pardon
of

create disorder at different educational institutions across the country as
well as hilly areas. BNP is patronising them on different lame excuses,” he
added.
Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, general
secretary of Awami League (AL) city unit, said after the execution of the
killers of Bangabandhu, the war criminals have realised that they would not be
able to flee this time.
“Sensing the looming danger, the evil forces are
trying to create unrest in the country one after one. The ethnic violence in
hilly areas and killings of students at different educational institutes are
the burning examples of this conspiracy.”
Bimol Biswas, politburo member of Workers' Party,
said the trial of war criminals is a major challenge for the pro-liberation
forces, adding: “We will have to move forward carefully to overcome this
challenge.”
Abul Hossain, city unit general secretary of the
party, presided over the meeting where Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal General Secretary
Sharif Nurul Ambia, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Harun Chowdhury, AL city
unit Vice-President Mukul Chowdhury also spoke.
